Quy Nhon snorkeling: a half day from Nhon Ly or a full coast day
Quy Nhon snorkeling mostly starts at the fishing village of Nhon Ly, about 25 km northeast of the town centre, where boats leave for the reefs along the coast. Coral is documented off Nhon Ly and Nhon Hai, and the stops used by tours include Bai Dua and Hon Seo.
Two trips cover the choice. One is a four-hour half day built around snorkeling and paddleboarding. The other is an eight-hour day that adds Ky Co beach, a seafood lunch and the Eo Gio cliffs. Prices are per person in US dollars as of November 2026: from $45 for the half day and from $83 for the full day.

Half day from Nhon Ly: snorkeling and paddleboarding
The half-day trip leaves Nhon Ly at 8:00 or 14:00 and lasts three to four hours. A boat takes the group to Bai Dua for snorkeling, followed by time on a paddleboard. An English-speaking guide gives a safety briefing, and the mask, snorkel, life jacket and board come with the trip, along with fruit and drinks.
Pickup is only within Nhon Ly, so this option fits best if you sleep in the village or can get there yourself. At $45 it is the cheaper way into the water, suited to couples and friends who swim confidently. Children under 5, non-swimmers and people with limited mobility are not eligible. The route and any cave stops depend on the swell, and water clarity changes with the season.
Full day: Ky Co, snorkeling at Hon Seo and Eo Gio
The eight-hour day begins with hotel pickup in Quy Nhon between 7:45 and 8:00, in an air-conditioned vehicle. The day also includes a seafood lunch and the Eo Gio cliffs. Snorkel gear is provided, and the guide speaks Vietnamese with translation help.
At $83 it costs $38 more than the half day. That buys four extra hours, hotel pickup, the beach and cliffs, and lunch, which makes it the easier choice if you stay in town without your own transport. For two people the totals are $90 for the half day and $166 for the full day. Non-swimmers and anyone prone to seasickness should skip this one.
When snorkeling works: season and weather
The full-day operator runs the speedboat and snorkeling only from April to September. From October to March the day goes by road to Ky Co without snorkeling. Even in season the sea decides, and both trips depend on conditions on the day. Vietnam's tourism board points to May to September as the best months for coastal and water-sports weather in Quy Nhon.
Bring swimwear, a change of clothes, a towel, sunglasses and sun cream. Do not touch marine life: some reef areas along this coast are community-managed and marked with buoys.
