Ky Co at a glance
Ky Co is a beach at the foot of the Phuong Mai hills, about 25 km northeast of the former city center of Quy Nhon. Some older pages call it an island that only boats can reach. That is wrong. An operator describes a peninsula with a resort, and both road and boat routes exist.
Ky Co is a place for a day out or an overnight stay, not a quick stop. Entry, shuttle and boat are priced separately, and the totals vary. Prices are in Vietnamese dong (VND) with a rough US dollar value, as listed in 2026, and they change. This is an independent guide, not run by the beach operator, the resort or any tour company.
How to get to Ky Co
Two routes, and the first part is shared.
By road
The way from the city leads over the Thi Nai bridge toward Nhon Ly. A travel agency describes a mountain road and a compulsory shuttle for the steep last descent, so do not count on riding a private motorbike all the way to the sand. The shuttle fee is separate on most lists.
By boat
A national tourism database describes the trip as a drive to Nhon Ly and Eo Gio, then a boat from there. Boat tours often include a snorkel stop, which can be at Bai Dua and not directly in front of the main beach. Boats do not run when the sea is rough.

Children are handled differently. One list lets children under 1.2 m in free, another sets VND 60,000 (about $2.40) for children and free entry below 0.8 m, with 50 percent for 0.8 to 1.2 m. One agency quotes a single price of VND 100,000 that includes a return shuttle. Ask which rule applies before you pay.

Where you snorkel
A trip called Ky Co snorkeling does not always stop in front of the main beach. The tourism database names Bai Dua as a possible stop. Ask where your boat stops and how long you stay in the water.
Boat safety
The UK foreign office advises checking the boat's registration and safety record, the crew's qualifications, the safety briefing and whether a life jacket is on board. Ask for a life jacket in your size.
Weather
No fixed yearly boat timetable is published, and a day can be cancelled. Vietnam's storm season runs from May to November, and the wettest months in the 1991 to 2020 averages are October and November. Read the weather page before you pick a date.
Opening hours
Check the hours before you go. An operator's website shows 7 a.m. to 12 noon, and a travel guide gives 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for Ky Co and Eo Gio together. Arrive in the morning and ask at the gate.

An operator describes the Ky Co Quy Nhon Resort with 15 villa groups and 59 rooms, check-in at 2 p.m. and check-out at noon. So the site is not undeveloped.
