What to do in Quy Nhon at a glance
The list is a selection, not a ranking. Ideas 1 to 4 are in and around the city. Ideas 5 to 9 lie on the northeast coast, on the Phuong Mai side. Ideas 10 to 12 take you further out to a tower group, an older temple and a village beach.
Prices are for adults in 2026, so check the price at the ticket desk. Check the current hours before you go. After heavy rain, coast roads and paths can be affected, and boats stop when the sea is rough.

In and near the city (1 to 4)
Places you can reach in a short ride.
1. Walk the city beach
The national tourism site describes about 5 km of sand in the center, with a promenade and a cycling route beside it. Swim with care. A report of April 2026 mentions rip currents and beach profiles that changed after the storm of November 2025, so stay inside the buoys and obey the flags.
Beaches guide โ2. Visit the Thap Doi towers
Two Cham temple towers stand in town, about 3 km from the center, with Hindu imagery. Adults pay VND 30,000 (about $1.20) in 2026 lists. One guide gives hours of 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Children under 6 are free there, and for the other child rules, ask at the ticket desk.
Thap Doi guide โ3. Follow the coast at Ghenh Rang
The rocky coast in the south of the city has stairs, pebble coves and the grave of the poet Han Mac Tu (1912 to 1940). Wet rocks are slippery. One list gives VND 25,000 (about $1); another reports free access to the landscape and VND 10,000 (about $0.40) for the grave. Do not add the figures together.
Ghenh Rang guide โ4. See the fishing village of Bai Xep
This village lies south of the city and is a short walk along the beach from a resort there. A resort factsheet of May 2025 puts it about 15 minutes by car from the center. It shares its name with a beach in Phu Yen, so see Bai Xep in Phu Yen if that is the one you mean.

The northeast coast (5 to 9)
Beaches, cliffs and a fishing village around Nhon Ly.
5. Spend a day at Ky Co
The beach lies below the Phuong Mai hills, about 25 km northeast of the former city center. Listed adult entry is VND 100,000 to 120,000 (about $4 to $4.80), and a shuttle for the steep last stretch costs extra on most lists. Snorkel stops are not always in front of the main beach.
Ky Co guide โ6. Walk the Eo Gio cliffs
A stepped coastal path near Nhon Ly offers views over the sea. The press reported a ticket of VND 30,000 (about $1.20) per visit on 27 June 2026, while some guides still list VND 22,000 to 25,000. This is a place for walking and looking, not for swimming.
Eo Gio guide โ7. Visit Nhon Ly
Nhon Ly is a fishing village with a harbor from which many boat trips start. Since 1 July 2025 it belongs to the ward of Quy Nhon Dong. Some boat tours meet at the harbor in the morning.
Nhon Ly guide โ8. Climb the Phuong Mai dunes
One guide places the dunes about 8 km from Eo Gio on the peninsula route. The shapes move with the wind, so there is no fixed height, and sandboarding is not something to count on.
More about Nhon Ly โ9. Snorkel at Hon Kho and Nhon Hai
Local people look after the reef here. A report names a closed core area and snorkeling in a buffer zone, with a contribution of VND 10,000 (about $0.40) per snorkeler and trip in 2025. Sea turtles have been observed at Nhon Hai, but a sighting is never promised.
Islands guide โFurther out (10 to 12)
Two Cham sites and a village beach.
10. Explore the Banh It towers
Banh It is a group of four Cham towers on a green hill, about 20 km outside the city. It is a tower group and not a pagoda, whatever older pages say. A list updated in 2026 gives VND 20,000 (about $0.80) for adults. Check the hours locally.
Towers guide โ11. See the Duong Long towers
An official description dates this monument to the late 12th or early 13th century. It has 3 main towers with Cham and Khmer influences, in brick with a lot of stonework. Two lists give VND 15,000 and VND 20,000 (about $0.60 and $0.80) for adults.
12. Relax at Trung Luong
The national tourism site describes a fishing village and a gently sloping beach here. A separate commercial camping park was reported as closed after a storm, so check whether it has reopened before you go. The description of the beach as gentle for children is tourism wording, not a swimming clearance.
